Day 9 Saturday 8th July

Our final full day in Seattle started with the second court session of the tour and a number of the touring party were found guilty of some serious crimes in the past few days ranging from poor time keeping to crimes against fashion. Needless to say any appeals fell on deaf ears and all the defendants had to leave the court guilty men. After the court session a number of the boys took the opportunity to go to the university sports centre to take part in a number of different activities. Some went to the gym, others played some basketball, a few tried their hand at beach volleyball and some went to the diving pool. There was actually some good diving on show today so no need for the tsunami alert this time. Mr Knox took the opportunity to catch up with his friend Dave Farmer who was hosted by Mr Knox almost 20 years ago in the Youth For Christ programme.

After lunch there was the last bit of free time when once again many of the group went shopping although others went back to the sports centre for some more physical activity. As we are due to leave in the small hours of the morning most of the packing was done before going back into downtown Seattle for the baseball game.

Tonight the Seattle Mariners entertained the Oakland Athletics. For those who know a bit about baseball it can be a bit stop start and a lot of the entertainment is in the crowd. Well the boys from Down High didn’t disappoint. They went through their full repertoire of songs as well as doing requests from their adoring public around. A couple of appearances on the Jumbo-tron had the boys in raptures and they were awarded the title of Most Entertaining Group. All workers within Safeco Field had nothing but praise for the boys. For the record the Athletics won 4-3 and we should mention that us staff were cheering for the Athletics (as we promised a group we met in Berkeley on Tuesday).

So that is leg 2 coming to an end. Duck Tour, Space Needle, Baseball game, two fine rugby victories and plenty of shopping in Seattle. Tomorrow morning we fly to Chicago for the third and final leg of this unforgettable tour. We actually are due to wake in just over three hours time!

It's been fantastic to read the blog every morning - looks like you are all having a ball.
Have a brilliant time in Chicago!
