Down High travelled to a cold and blowy Barban Hill to take on Dromore High School Medallion this week. Aside from winning 10-8, the big encouragement after the game was the defensive performance the team had displayed. They consistently showed organisation, discipline and heart in their defence and soaked up a lot of Dromore pressure, particuarly in the first half. Indeed the only Down try of the game came off the back of a Dromore lineout when back row player James McBride intercepted a pass from the host's scrum half to run in for the score. Charlie Power's conversion and the penalty he had scored earlier in the game was enough for the visitors to secure a very pleasing win.
