Down High started very brightly. They took control of the possession and shifted the ball along the back line quickly and smoothly. They could have had a couple of tries early on but for some minor handling errors. The first try of the game came from good passing along the line and the winger (Jordan Murray) cutting inside and getting it down. Down High then quickly regained possession from good tackles and well won rucks by the Forwards. About ten minutes after the first try, Christy Lindsay beat two players to score the try right in the corner. Overall a very good half for Down High, going into the second half with a 10-0 lead.
At the start of the second half Down High took a bit of pressure from Dromore and they bit back at the boys in green, getting an unconverted try. After this Down High regained possession and started attacking again. Christy then bagged his second try of the match beside the posts when he triple-stepped three men. He then converted it. Down High kept going but unfortunately were not able to get a fourth try. However, in the closing minutes Down High scored but it was disallowed because of a forward pass by Sam Harpur leading to the try. This left the final score 17-5 to the Mount Crescent boys.
