Down High School Medallion Rugby Teams have recently benefited from generous sponsorship enabling the school to invest in new playing kit and training gear. It has been made possible through the kind sponsorship from; Motis Freight Ferry Services(Main Sponsor), Carryduff Tyre Centre and AECOM Architecture and Engineering. Not only is the squad dressed well, they have also been playing well, so far recording victories over Bangor, Grosvenor, Sullivan, Royal School Armagh and Portadown College. A great start to the new season!
Mr Maurice Irvine, one of the PE Teachers and Rugby Coaches at the school is delighted with the generous support and remarked, “The school is very grateful for the continued support offered by the sponsors and look forward to working in partnership with them as part of the school’s policy of establishing and developing links with the local community.” Extra-curricular activities bring a valuable and added dynamic to the education of young people and it is promising that local businesses are keen to get involved to support one of the many activities on the extra-curricular programme offered at the school.
